Mbekweni’s City Killers were crowned the Cape Winelands District Municipality / Safa Cape Winelands 2021- 2022 Top 8 Champions!!
They booked a place in the finals after beating last year’s defending champions FC Cheetahs of Stellenbosch, coming from a goal down to win 2-1.
The champions met their their toughest opponent FC Malaga, who stood their ground and showed why they are one of the most dominant teams in the region.
The final ended all square 0–0 after regulation time, and the resulting in extra time which saw City Killers emerging victorious.
Standout performances by Captain Lukholo Macibela and Goalkeeper, Olifant Sonamose resulted in individual awards!
Lukholo Macibela won Player of the Tournament for the second time in a row, and Olifant Sanomose, the Goalkeeper of the Tournament!
