The Berg River gets new 4-day Canoe Race

Introducing the Berg120!!

Paarl is famous for the traditional Berg River Canoe Marathon that starts every year in Paarl, and finishes in Velddrift!

A new addition to the canoe racing calendar is the Berg120 which is a separate race taking place simultaneously with the traditional Berg River Canoe Marathon, and gives canoeists the opportunity to experience the Berg River.

Traditionally, the Berg River Marathon consists of 4 days and 240km of paddling between Paarl and Velddrif, however The Berg120 allows a shorter and more manageable distance.

The route is as follows:

Day 1 – Skooltjie to Delsma

Day 2 – Gouda to Bridgetown

Day 3 – Soetdraai to Zoutkloof

Day 4 – Kersefontein to Velddrif

K2 canoeists may also take part in the Berg120!!

This new race is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to experience the Berg River in shorter race!

July 6, 2022 is the date to diarise!
