Hello, me again – The Village Guy, your self appointed tourism ambassador for Paarl and Wellington!
Ever heard of Landskroon Wine Estate?
Well, if you looking for a history lesson of Paarl winemaking filled with family tradition and deep heritage, you need to visit Landskroon!
The farm has a wine making tradition dating back to the 17th century, with 5 generations of passionate winemakers producing world reknowned award winning wines!
Although wine was made on the farm from 1874, the first wine was bottled a 100 years later in 1974. A Cinsaut was the first wine to be bottled.
The farm offers wine tasting and pairing, picnics and views that will make you spend most of your day basking in the Paarl sun!
The atmosphere is one of wine heritage. The surrounding buildings, shed and cellar creates an atmosphere of rich history that shows how one family’s love of wine created an iconic brand in Paarl.
Even more interesting, they have a family of owls that have decided to make the farm their home in one of the magestic oak trees – very cute!
Visit Landskroon, and experience it yourself – it’s quite remarkable!
